Plot Outline: In Haripur lived a widow with her two sons, Gunga and Jumna. One day, Gunga finds an empty jewel box outside the Zamindar’s house. Gunga’s innocent act of taking the jewel box leads to his mother being accused of theft. The humiliation of the false accusation is too much for the self-respecting woman. Eventually, Gunga takes up a job and works hard to provide for his brother’s education. Gunga also happens to fall in love with Dhanno. Jumna, meanwhile, finds a silent worshipper in Kamla, the Zamindar’s daughter. One day, Hariram, the brother-in-law of the Zamindar, tries to force himself on Dhanno. But she is rescued in time by Gunga. Hariram implicates Gunga on false charges and sends him to jail. Jumna is forced to give up his studies. Upon his release from jail, Gunga realizes the misery of his brother and is deeply pained. He decides to become an outlaw. Dhanno now joins Gunga and they get married. On realizing that he is to become a father, he gives up his illegal life. He goes to surrender to his brother Jumna who is a police officer now.

Plot Outline:At the behest of Mahesh Verma, Shanta Prasad alias Abba, recruits Ghulam-E-Musthafa, a gangster and hit-man to carry out their nefarious activities. When Dayanand Dixit refuses to sell his property to Verma, Ghulam is asked to move into their house, live with them, and eventually force them to leave. Dayanand and his wife, Bhagyalaxmi, are shocked at this and initially cannot accept a Muslim male to live together with them and eat from their utensils. To make matters worse, Dayanand loses his job, his son, Vikram, is unable to secure admission in any college, and their daughter, Vidya, is unable to get anyone to marry her. Faced with these obstacles, the Dixit family must now arrive at a compromise with Ghulam and his masters - or else be shunned by the rest of the community - leaving Vikram uneducated and Vidya unmarried for life.

Those who look for ‘street-smart language’ like in Hyderabad Nawabs might not be wholly satisfied, but FM too offers enough entertainment especially in the second half. Post the interval, the guy who played the Gullu Bhai brings down the house with his rib-tickling comedy.

Plot Outline:Six years after Fiza’s (Karisma Kapoor) brother, Aman (played by Hrithik Roshan) disappears during the 1993 Mumbai riots, she goes to look for him. When she does find him, to her horror she sees that he has joined a terrorist group. She forces him to come home, and he finally re-unites with their mother (played by Jaya Bachchan). However his allegiance and thoughts make him want to join the terrorist network, led by Murad Khan (Manoj Bajpai). A confrontation with two men who harass Fiza leads to Aman revealing his involvement with the terrorist network in front of his sister, mother and the police. His mother’s grief and disappointment eventually lead her to commit suicide. Fiza tries once more to find her brother, with the help of Anirudh (Bikram Saluja). Aman has been sent on a mission to kill two powerful politicians; when he does succeed in assassinating them, his own terrorist group tries to kill him. He escapes and Fiza follows him.

Plot Outline:Modern day secular India is held at ransom by international extortionist, Baba Sikiander and his brothers, Aftab and Sameer. They begin by demanding money from wealthy businessmen, and when their victims refuse to pay, they are killed. One of their victim’s now being threatened is Kantilal Shah, who has adopted a mere canteen boy, Bunty, gave him his family name, Karan Shah, and the responsibility of running the family business, much to the chagrin of his daughter, Anjali. Upon hearing that his father’s life is endangered, Karan returns from America and convinces his dad not to give to the extortionist’s demands, but instead provide that amount to the past victims’ and their respective families, to which his father agrees.
